Aviation is a specialised field. As a result, Airspeed Aviation contributes to the growth of the local economy by bringing skilled people and their families into Scone, Tamworth and our other training locations.
Airspeed Aviation employs 9 pilots plus several Management staff. In addition, through our maintenance partner East Coast Aircraft Maintenance, we provide a significant proportion of the workload for their 12-strong workforce.
Supporting other small businesses
We are based in a small town in NSW and we firmly believe that small businesses in rural areas must support each other to remain viable and to ensure specialist services are available.
Airspeed Aviation has a published “Buy Local” Policy which has been distributed to the Chamber of Commerce in an effort to not only hold ourselves accountable to our own aspirations, but to inspire other local businesses to follow our lead.
Upper Hunter Shire Council “Young Endeavour” scheme
Airspeed Aviation has been an enthusiastic sponsor of the Young Endeavour program operated by the Upper Hunter Shire Council for several years, and we generally sponsor on flying student each year for the program.
